As women age, hormonal changes become a natural part of life, especially during menopause. At Omniya Clinic, we offer bespoke Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Whether you’re experiencing early symptoms or navigating post-menopause, our treatments aim to help you maintain your quality of life and well-being.
At our London hormone clinic, our experienced hormone specialists provide tailored hormone replacement therapy to support women through the challenging symptoms. Our HRT treatment combines nutrition and Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) to help you regain your confidence and enjoy life again.
HRT is a treatment designed to alleviate symptoms associated with hormonal changes, such as those experienced during menopause. It works by replacing hormones like oestrogen and progesterone, which the body naturally produces less of as you age. This therapy can help reduce hot flushes, mood swings, sleep disturbances, and other menopausal symptoms, while also supporting bone and heart health.
Typically, HRT is suitable for women experiencing menopause or those with early menopause symptoms. However, it is important to note that not every woman will be eligible. Factors like your age, family history, and personal health risks will all play a role in determining the right treatment.
HRT can manage and alleviate symptoms related to various conditions caused by hormonal imbalances or deficiencies. Your practitioner will collaborate with you to weigh the pros and cons of bioidentical hormones, considering your medical history and symptoms to create a suitable treatment plan.
HRT can address the following conditions:
Relieves hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, mood swings, and sleep problems.
It boosts sex drive, reduces fatigue, improves mood, and helps maintain muscle mass.
Strengthens bones and reduces the risk of fractures, particularly in postmenopausal women and men with low hormone levels.
It helps regulate periods and manage some symptoms of PCOS.
Unfortunately, We cannot provide HRT if you are pregnant, have liver disease, suffer from untreated high blood pressure, or have a history of blood clots, womb cancer, breast cancer, or ovarian cancer.
HRT isn’t just about relieving symptoms; it offers several long-term health benefits for women:
At Omniya Clinic, we offer various types of HRT tailored to individual needs:
This is suitable for women who have had a hysterectomy. It helps manage symptoms like hot flushes and night sweats, and offers protection for bones and the heart.
If you still have your womb, a combination of oestrogen and progesterone is required to protect the lining of the uterus. This helps balance hormone levels and prevent endometrial cancer.
Body-identical hormones, which are chemically identical to those your body produces, offer a more natural approach. Bioidentical hormones can be tailored to individual hormone levels, though more research is needed to confirm their efficacy and safety.
Options include oestrogen gels, creams, or patches, which are absorbed through the skin, offering a convenient and less invasive way of administering hormones. This can be particularly useful if you have digestive concerns or prefer non-oral options.
Traditional tablets remain an option for women who prefer oral treatment, though some may experience side effects, such as an increased risk of blood clots.
When you book an appointment at our London hormone clinic, we start with an initial consultation to ensure you receive the best possible treatment. We take a detailed medical history, which can be completed digitally or online, to understand your specific symptoms and needs.
Next, we conduct a simple test to check your hormone levels, with different assessments for men and women. These tests are sent off for analysis. Once we receive the results, we will use them alongside your medical history to develop a personalised treatment plan. Sometimes, we may recommend nutritional guidance in addition to bioidentical hormone treatments.
It may take a few months to feel the benefits, but we will monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to help you feel your best. We work with several compounding pharmacies in the UK that can create bioidentical hormones specifically for you to use at home. You will be fully informed about the medications, including whether they are regulated or unregulated, and all risks and benefits will be discussed with you.
While HRT has numerous benefits, it’s important to discuss potential risks with your healthcare provider. Some of these risks may include:

Hormone replacement therapy replaces the hormones that are at a lower level (such as naturally produced progesterone) while you approach your menopause; which in turn helps to reduce your symptoms. Research shows HRT can also assist with the prevention of but is not limited to osteoporosis, which is the weakening of the bones – a condition that is more common after menopause.
There is no limit when it comes to how long you can be on your HRT treatment. At our Omniya’s hormone clinic in London, your doctor will provide you with their recommendations. Most females will stop taking HRT once menopausal symptoms pass, which is typically after a few years.
As is the case with any type of medication, there are a number of side effects you could experience with your HRT menopause treatment. Not everyone experiences such symptoms, and those who do tend to notice that they pass within three months of the treatment starting. Some of the common side effects are as follows:
If you stop taking your treatment before advised to, it is likely that your symptoms will return. They may also be just as bad as they were when they first began, although there have been cases whereby people have stopped their treatment and their symptoms were less severe. It is not something that can be predicted. If you do decide to quit, it is recommended that you avoid doing so at a stressful time and instead do so while you feel stable. Make sure you talk to one of our specialists about stopping, before you do so.
There are a lot of different ways to take BHRT. Not only do you have creams and pills but there are also skin patches, spray, and other forms too. Using creams on your skin, as opposed to taking a pill, is going to reduce your risk of experiencing blood clots because it will not go through your liver. Bioidentical hormones will be discussed with you during your consultation and you will be advised on the best way to take BHRT for you personally.

HRT can help to treat the following:
HRT is usually recommended around the time of menopause (typically between 45 and 55), but the timing varies. Early menopause or premature ovarian insufficiency may necessitate treatment earlier.
There is no definitive time limit. Many women use HRT for several years to manage symptoms, but this is a personal decision best made with the guidance of your doctor.
For most women, HRT is safe when prescribed correctly and monitored by a healthcare professional. However, individual risks vary, and it’s important to discuss them with a doctor.
HRT is not a weight loss treatment, but by balancing your hormones, it may help manage weight fluctuations commonly associated with menopause.
During your consultation, we will advise you on the best treatments and products to use at home.
