Morpheus8 is radiofrequency microneedling treatment for skin tightening, laxity, firmness, texture, under-eye bags, and acne scarring. The device was developed by InMode, the radiofrequency energy delivered at the needle tips separates it from a standard microneedling pen.
At Omniya Clinic in Knightsbridge, we use Morpheus8 on the face, neck and suitable body areas. Prices start at £480 for the eye area and £680 for face and neck. Most patients are advised to plan a course of three sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart.

The treatment combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy. Fine needles enter the skin at a depth chosen for the area being treated. Once deployed, radio frequency energy is delivered from the needle tips into the supporting tissue below the surface.
Standard microneedling works through controlled needling alone. Morpheus8 adds heat, and the settings are chosen according to the area being treated. Under-eye crepiness is approached differently from acne scarring. The jawline is treated differently from pores or fine lines.
On the face, the needles can reach as deep as 4 mm depending on the area and setting chosen. Shallower passes may be used for surface texture, pores and fine lines. Deeper passes may be used where laxity or contour is the concern, provided the anatomy allows it.
On the body, deeper settings can reach around 7 mm and include fat-modulating settings. These settings are kept away from lean facial areas to reduce the risk of hollowing where it is not desired.

Morpheus8 can help skin feel firmer as collagen and elastin remodel. Texture may smooth, pores can look smaller and fine lines may soften. Suitable acne scarring may improve because treatment can be placed closer to the depth of the scar, rather than only working at the surface.
It can also be used on selected body areas, including the arms, abdomen, thighs and knees, where mild laxity, crepiness or stretch marks are the concern.
It is not a surgical lift. It will not correct advanced laxity, and it will not replace volume that has been lost. If volume loss, heavy jowling or significant loose skin is the main issue, we will say so and explain whether Morpheus8 still has a place in the plan.
Before booking a treatment, we assess your goals, skin type, medical history and the area to be treated. Suitability depends on your skin, the area being treated and the settings used.
Morpheus8 may suit mild to moderate laxity, early jowls, uneven texture, enlarged pores, malar bags/ festoons and acne scarring. It may also suit under-eye crepiness where the aim is skin quality rather than volume. On the body, we may consider it for mild laxity/ fat reduction or stretch marks.
Across the face, treatment can include the forehead and brow, cheeks, under-eye area, nasolabial and marionette region, jawline and neck. If you are unsure whether this is the right starting point, a skin analysis can be booked first.
All appointments start with a consultation. We examine your skin, discuss what you want to change, review relevant medical history and agree the areas and likely number of sessions.
On the day of your Morpeheus8 treatment, your skin is cleansed and numbing cream is applied. The cream needs 30 to 45 minutes to take effect, and this part is not rushed. Treatment usually takes 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the area. Allow 60 to 90 minutes in the clinic.
Most patients describe warmth and firm pressure, with a pricking or pinching sensation as the handpiece moves over the skin. Some areas are more sensitive than others. Your practitioner checks your comfort throughout and can adjust the pace or settings where needed.
Afterwards, the skin is cleansed again. You are given aftercare instructions, including which products to use and when to restart skincare.
Preparation usually starts in the two weeks before treatment. We will tell you when to pause non-prescription actives such as retinol, acids and scrubs. Avoid microdermabrasion, laser, strong sun exposure and fake tan for two weeks beforehand. We cannot treat over fake tan.
Stop waxing and depilatory creams on the area five to seven days before treatment. Men should shave the area cleanly where needed. Plan hair washing and colour around the session, because shampoo foam and dye should not reach freshly treated skin. Allow two weeks after Botox and six weeks after dermal fillers.
Prescribed medication is assessed individually. Tell us about anticoagulants, aspirin and other blood thinners, prescription topicals such as retinoids or hydroquinone, and any history of cold sores in the area. Any change to prescribed medication remains a decision for your prescriber.
The first few hours are usually the warmest. Skin often feels hot and tight, a little like sunburn. Redness is expected and is usually most noticeable for one to three days. Pinpoint marks from the needles are normal. Delicate areas may bruise lightly.
Swelling varies. It may be minor, or it may last from a few days or up to 2 weeks where deeper settings have been used. Most patients return to work the following day, but a first session is best booked when you have some flexibility. If you have an event coming up, tell us the date at consultation.
Use the products you are given, including any antiseptic recommended while the needle channels close. Try not to touch the treated area. Retinol, exfoliating acids and strong actives are not recommended for 5-7 days. Do not pick at tiny scabs or dry patches.
Moisturiser, sunscreen and makeup can be restarted when the skin is ready, usually 48hours after. Makeup should be mineral and applied with fresh applicators. Once sunscreen is back in your routine, use SPF 30 or higher. Avoid strong sun and sunbeds for around four weeks. Saunas, heavy exercise and swimming are delayed according to the aftercare you are given.
A small breakout can happen afterwards. Please contact us if pain increases instead of settling, if redness spreads, if you notice discharge, or if anything else worries you.
The first changes are often textural. Pores may look a little finer and the surface may feel smoother before the deeper tightening is obvious. Some patients notice this from the first week. A clearer difference is often seen within three weeks.
Morpheus8 stimulates the skin’s natural collagen remodelling process. As collagen production and remodelling take place gradually, improvements can continue to develop over the following 3-6 months, with the skin becoming firmer, smoother and more refined over time. How long it lasts depends on your skin, age, lifestyle and aftercare. Six months or more is a general expectation, and maintenance is planned individually. Smoking and sun exposure shorten results.

Traditional microneedling treats texture, scarring and skin quality without added heat. Recovery is usually shorter, but it is not used for the same degree of tightening.
Standalone radiofrequency uses heat without needles. It is usually considered for milder tightening, rather than acne scarring or deeper texture concerns.
Fractional laser can be useful for pigmentation, sun damage and wrinkles, depending on the laser and settings. Recovery varies, and the choice depends on the concern and skin type.
Morpheus8 can also sit alongside treatments that address other layers. Dermal fillers may be used where volume needs replacing beneath the skin. PRP applied topically after treatment, or exosomes, can be added where they are appropriate.
Settings change with the concern: depth and tip are chosen for the type of acne scarring and where it sits, structural settings are used for laxity, a more superficial approach is used for fine lines, and targeted skincare may sit alongside the sessions for pigmentation.
Morpheus8 should only be performed by a trained practitioner after an assessment of your skin and medical history.
Treatment is postponed, modified or avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding, where there is active infection, an open wound or a cold sore at the site, and where there is uncontrolled eczema or dermatitis, a keloid tendency, or a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device in the area.
Recent isotretinoin use is usually deferred for six to twelve months and needs individual assessment. Anticoagulant use and bleeding disorders are assessed individually. Treatment also needs spacing after recent fillers in the treatment zone, strong peels or laser.
Darker skin tones can be treated, but Fitzpatrick V and VI skin is approached with extra care. Where appropriate, this may include pigment-regulating skincare beforehand, conservative energy, shallower passes, SPF 30 or higher once the skin is ready, and heat avoidance for 72 hours to reduce the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Alongside the redness and swelling that are expected, infection, pigment change and prolonged swelling occur less commonly. Burns, scarring, loss of fat in the treated area and nerve injury have been reported with radiofrequency microneedling more broadly. Energy, depth and technique are chosen carefully for that reason. The usual sensation is pricking or pinching with warmth alongside it. Some areas are more sensitive than others. Numbing cream is left on for the full time required, and your practitioner checks in with you throughout treatment.
Skin Sensation and Appearance: After your treatment, it’s perfectly normal for your skin to feel warm and perhaps a bit tingly, rather like a mild sunburn. You’ll likely notice some redness and slight swelling, and there may be small, pinpoint marks where the microneedles have done their work. A touch of bruising isn’t uncommon, particularly in more delicate areas.
Immediate Aftercare: We’ll provide you with specific aftercare products and detailed instructions for use at home.
Sun Protection: We cannot stress enough the importance of sun protection at this stage. Before you leave, we’ll remind you to avoid direct sunlight and apply a high-factor SPF sunscreen, which we can provide if needed.
Hydration: Keeping your skin well-hydrated is crucial for optimal results. We recommend drinking plenty of water and using the hydrating products we recommend.
Follow-up Care: Before you leave, we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment to monitor your progress and address any concerns you might have.
Return to Normal Activities: Most of our patients find they can return to their daily routines straightaway, though some prefer to take the rest of the day to relax at home.
The length of the treatment is going to depend on the area of the skin being treated. Nevertheless, the average treatment usually takes approximately 30 minutes.
Avoid makeup on the treated area until your practitioner advises that it is suitable to restart. The timing depends on your treatment and how your skin heals. Follow your personalised aftercare instructions and contact the clinic if you are unsure whether your skin is ready.
Some notice smoother texture from the first week and a clearer difference within three weeks. Firmness takes longer; the main result is usually judged at three to six months.
