LED Light Therapy

at Omniya Clinic London

LED Light Therapy offers a powerful yet gentle way to rejuvenate the skin, calm inflammation, and promote healing from within. Using clinically proven light wavelengths, this treatment helps address a range of concerns, from acne and redness to dullness and visible signs of ageing, without pain or downtime.

Many people struggle with persistent skin issues that affect their confidence, whether that’s breakouts, fine lines, or uneven texture. LED Light Therapy works by harnessing the power of light energy to stimulate the skin’s natural repair processes. Different wavelengths target specific concerns: blue light helps reduce acne-causing bacteria, red light supports collagen production and healing, and near-infrared light enhances circulation and tissue repair.

At Omniya, LED Light Therapy can be enjoyed as a standalone treatment for a quick glow boost or combined with other treatments, such as HydraFacial, Microneedling, or Oxygen Facial  to enhance overall results. Each session takes place in a relaxing, clinical environment under the care of our medically trained practitioners, ensuring both safety and effectiveness.

This non-invasive, soothing therapy leaves your skin visibly brighter, calmer, and refreshed, helping you restore confidence in your complexion, naturally.

What is LED Light Therapy?

LED stands for light-emitting diode; a technology that has become a cornerstone of modern, non-invasive skin rejuvenation. LED Light Therapy uses controlled wavelengths of light to stimulate the skin’s natural healing processes, helping to repair tissue, reduce inflammation, and improve overall skin health.

This treatment can be tailored to your individual concerns using specific wavelengths of light:

  • Blue light targets acne by eliminating bacteria and reducing breakouts.
  • Red light stimulates collagen and elastin production, helping to smooth fine lines and support firmer skin.
  • Amber or yellow light brightens the complexion and soothes sensitivity.
  • Near-infrared light penetrates deeper layers to boost circulation and accelerate healing.

Because each wavelength reaches a different depth of the skin, LED therapy can address multiple concerns simultaneously, from active acne and redness to dullness and early signs of ageing. It’s completely pain-free, requires no downtime, and is suitable for all skin types, making it a popular choice for maintaining healthy, radiant skin at Omniya Clinic London.

How Does LED Light Therapy Work?

LED Light Therapy works by delivering controlled wavelengths of light energy to the skin, where it’s absorbed by cellular receptors. This energy stimulates natural biological processes that support healing, collagen production, and cell renewal.

As the light penetrates through different layers of the skin, it increases circulation, enhances oxygen flow, and encourages the regeneration of healthy tissue. This process, known as photobiomodulation, helps the skin function more efficiently – improving its tone, texture, and overall vitality.

At Omniya Clinic, LED Light Therapy is completely non-invasive, pain-free, and suitable for all skin types. It can be enjoyed on its own for a quick rejuvenation boost or combined with other treatments for enhanced results.

What are the Benefits of LED Light Therapy?

LED Light Therapy offers a wide range of benefits for both skin health and appearance. By stimulating natural cellular activity, it helps the skin repair, strengthen, and restore balance over time.

Patients often notice:

  • Improved overall skin tone and texture
  • Reduction in breakouts and inflammation
  • Softer fine lines and a smoother complexion
  • Enhanced elasticity through boosted collagen and elastin production
  • Healthier, more hydrated skin with restored radiance
  • Support for tissue repair and recovery after other aesthetic treatments

Whether used alone or as part of a combined facial programme, LED Light Therapy helps to naturally rejuvenate the skin, promoting long-term strength, clarity, and glow.

LED Light Therapy FAQs

Can I have LED light therapy if I take medication for acne?

There are some medications that you cannot take if you’re having LED light therapy. For example, you should not have this treatment if you take Accutane. The best thing to do is to speak with one of our specialists who will advise on whether or not this treatment is right for you.

How long does the treatment take?

The procedure will typically take around 20 minutes at a time. You will usually have this treatment once a week for a period of around ten weeks. After this, you will only need to have treatment once every few months.

Can I do LED light therapy at home?

There are a lot of DIY kits available today. However, we do not recommend using these. You’re not going to be able to achieve your desired results if you’ve not had training and do not know how to target skin problems effectively.

How long does it take for LED light therapy to work?

Light therapy can start to improve your skin condition within a matter of a few days. For some people, though, it can take several weeks, so do not be alarmed if you do not see results right away.

Is LED light harmful?

Unlike other forms of lighting, LED does not emit polluting radiation. Therefore, LED light will not pose a health hazard. This is why it is considered one of the safest skin treatments.

Can you have too many LED treatments?

You cannot ‘overdose’ on this treatment. However, it is critical that you follow the recommendations that your practitioner provides regarding the number of treatments that you should have.

Which LED light is best for pigmentation?

We tend to recommend green light therapy for pigmentation. The best thing to do, though, is to book a consultation. We will be able to assess your skin and listen to your skin goals. We can then make our recommendations based on this.

Can you get a tan from light therapy?

No – light therapy does not use UV light, and so there is no risk of your skin colour changing.

Will light therapy hurt?

No, LED light therapy does not hurt, as it is a fully non-invasive treatment. You may feel a little bit of warmth.

What skin types should try LED light therapy?

Light therapy is great for all skin types! It is especially beneficial for rosacea.

Can your eyes become damaged due to LED light therapy?

LED light therapy can cause damage to the eyes. This is why we will always provide you with goggles to wear during your treatment. This will ensure that you do not experience any problems with your eyes because of the treatment. This is another reason why it is not advisable to do this treatment at home. We have also found that some goggles are insufficient for the purpose, so we recommend caution.

Was LED light therapy used by Navy SEALs?

LED light therapy has long been used to help with skin conditions. In fact, it was first used in the 1990s by U.S. Navy SEALs to help heal wounds quickly, regenerating the damaged muscle tissues. Since then, LED light therapy has been researched for various aesthetic situations. It is mainly noted for increasing tissues and collagen. This can smooth your skin, helping to reduce the appearance of damage from wrinkles, acne, and age spots.

What is the cost of LED light therapy?

The cost of this treatment is going to depend on the area of skin that is being treated. You can also combine this with other treatments, which can also have an impact on the price. This is why the best thing to do is give us a call and book a consultation. We will be able to give you our expert advice on the best treatment for you and we can provide you with a price for the service.
