What Does a Hydrafacial Involve?

Each Hydrafacial session is a carefully sequenced, multi-phase treatment that rejuvenates your skin inside and out. Here’s how it works:

  1. Cleansing & Exfoliation: Removes makeup, dead skin cells and surface debris, revealing a fresh layer underneath.
  2. Acid Peel: A gentle mix of glycolic and salicylic acid loosens debris and clears congestion without irritation.
  3. Extraction: Using vortex-suction technology, blackheads and impurities are removed from deep within the pores.
  4. Hydration: Your skin is infused with intense moisturisers and nourishing serums containing peptides and antioxidants.
  5. LED Light Therapy: Red light reduces fine lines and stimulates collagen, while blue light calms inflammation and kills acne-causing bacteria.

The Luxe version includes all the benefits of the standard Hydrafacial, with the addition of a facial and shoulder massage and masks. Hydrafacial FAQs

What Is a Hydrafacial?

Hydrafacial is an advanced, non-invasive facial treatment that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant protection in a single session. Using a patented Vortex-Fusion technology, this treatment deeply cleanses your skin, removes impurities, and delivers nourishing serums to target your unique skin concerns. It’s the ultimate all-in-one solution for healthier, more radiant skin.

Unlike traditional facials, Hydrafacial is fully customisable. Whether you’re dealing with dryness, acne, fine lines, or hyperpigmentation, the treatment can be tailored to suit your skin’s needs. And the best part? There’s no downtime, so you can carry on with your day immediately after.

Is a Hydrafacial right for me?

The Hydrafacial caters to most complexions and concerns. It’s great for teens suffering from acne; adults with pimples, wrinkles or hyperpigmentation; and for older patients with sun damage or uneven skin tone. There are some exceptions — those with active rashes, sunburns, or rosacea, along with pregnant or breastfeeding patients and any shellfish or honey allergies.

Is a Hydrafacial better than a regular facial?

Hydrafacial are often considered superior as they provide comprehensive treatment in one session.

How long before I see results?

Hydrafacial results should last up to a month and give immediate results making your skin smoother and more radiant while helping with conditions like enlarged pores, uneven or dull skin tone. Longer-lasting results can be achieved through a course of weekly or monthly Hydrafacial and maintenance treatments.

How does a Hydrafacial work?

The Hydrafacial treatment uses different and specific tips at each step which can be tailored to your skin concern. Starting with a lymphatic drainage routine to help detoxify the skin, reduce puffiness, and preps the skin for the remaining steps. A deep cleanse is then carried out, removing any dead skin and excess oils with a light exfoliation. This is followed by a pure glycolic acid peel that has a progression of strengths, which is applied to the skin to break up the dirt and oil which may be clogging pores. The extraction tip is then used to blast fluid onto your face which pushes trapped dirt out of your pores which are then essentially vacuumed up along with blackheads, dirt, oil and impurities. This is all done while simultaneously hydrating, plumping and nourishing serums are applied to your skin. The cordless red and blue LED light therapy are then pressed along the skin in a routine that covers the face effectively targeting specific skin concerns including ageing.

What is the difference between microdermabrasion and a Hydrafacial?

It’s similar to microdermabrasion in that it exfoliates and opens up pores. Unlike microdermabrasion, Hydrafacial uses a suctioning device and a light chemical peel to gently exfoliate dead skin cells. Because of this, it’s suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin, while microdermabrasion can be too rough for fragile complexions and conditions like rosacea.

How often should I have a Hydrafacial?

For optimal results, it is recommended to have a Hydrafacial once a month, though frequency may vary.

What should I avoid before my Hydrafacial/HydraBack treatment?

  • Avoid products containing exfoliating acids in the treatment area for 48-72 hours before the treatment.
  • Refrain from using prescription retinoids (e.g., tretinoin) for 1 week before the treatment.
  • Do not wax or use other hair removal methods in the treatment area 3-5 days prior.
  • If you’ve recently had aesthetic treatments, wait 7 days after Botox and 10 days after fillers before your Hydrafacial. (Note: This does not apply for HydraBack.)

How should I care for my skin after the treatment?

  • Avoid direct sunlight, sunbeds, swimming pools, excessive sweating, and heat treatments (e.g., sauna, steam rooms, hot showers/baths) for the next 48 hours.
  • The treatment area is more susceptible to sunburn, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation. Avoid direct sun exposure and use a minimum of SPF 30.
  • Refrain from aggressive exfoliation; avoid products containing exfoliating acids or retinol in the treatment area for 48-72 hours post-treatment.
  • Continue to avoid prescription retinoids (e.g., tretinoin) for 1 week post-treatment.
  • Avoid waxing or using other hair removal methods for 5-7 days after the treatment.
  • Makeup can be applied after 12 hours.
  • Do not pick or touch the treated area after the treatment.
  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

What are potential Hydrafacial side effects

One of the reasons Hydrafacial is so popular is its gentle, non-invasive approach. Side effects are rare, but here’s what you might notice after your treatment:

  • Mild Redness: This is temporary and usually subsides within a few hours.
  • Sensitivity: Your skin may feel more sensitive to sunlight for a day or two.

At Omniya Clinic, we ensure every treatment is tailored to your skin’s needs, minimising the risk of side effects.

What are Hydrafacial Results like?

The beauty of Hydrafacial is its instant results. After just one session, you’ll notice:

  • Brighter, more radiant skin.
  • A smoother texture.
  • Reduced appearance of pores.
  • Hydrated, plump skin.

With regular treatments, the benefits only get better. Long-term results include improved skin tone, reduced fine lines, and a healthier, more youthful complexion.

What are Hydrafacial Boosters?

Boosters are optional add-ons that enhance your Hydrafacial experience. These concentrated formulas target specific concerns, such as:

  • Brightening Boosters: Even out your skin tone with Vitamin C.
  • Anti-Ageing Boosters: Reduce fine lines with peptides.
  • Calming Boosters: Soothe redness and inflammation with antioxidants.
  • Acne Boosters: Target excess oil and prevent future breakouts.

Your therapist will help you choose the best boosters for your skin’s needs.

How much is a Hydrafacial in London?

Our classic treatment starts at £200. We also offer Hydrafacial Platinum, HydraLite and advanced variations.
