PRP Treatment in London

at Omniya Clinic

What is PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a treatment that uses your own blood plasma – concentrated with platelets and their natural growth factors – to support skin repair, boost collagen, and improve texture and tone. Because PRP is autologous (from you, for you), it is drug-free, biocompatible, and typically well tolerated with minimal downtime.

At Omniya Clinic in London, PRP is performed by trained practitioners using medical-grade protocols and devices. We tailor each course to your goals – brighter, smoother skin; improved under-eye quality; or support for hair density on the scalp.

PRP facial treatments start from £400.

PRP Facial (Vampire Facial) in London

A PRP facial – sometimes called a “vampire facial” – introduces your own concentrated platelets to the dermis via precise micro-injections and, where indicated, controlled microneedling to evenly distribute PRP. This combination enhances collagen synthesis and extracellular matrix support, addressing fine lines, uneven texture, enlarged pores, and early laxity. Under-eye skin quality (crepiness, dullness) can also improve in appropriately selected patients.

What Happens During a PRP Facial?

  • Consultation & planning: medical history, examination, photography and a phased plan.
  • Collection & preparation: a small venous sample is centrifuged to isolate PRP.
  • Delivery: intradermal micro-injections (or microneedling-assisted delivery) across the treatment field.
  • Recovery: transient erythema, swelling or pinpoint bruising typically resolves within 24-48 hours.
  • Course: usually 3 sessions, 4-6 weeks apart; maintenance every 6-12 months.

How PRP Works

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) works by harnessing your body’s own healing potential. A small sample of your blood is processed to concentrate the platelets, which are then reintroduced into the skin. These platelets release powerful growth factors (e.g. PDGF, TGF-β, and VEGF) that act as messengers to stimulate surrounding cells.

This cascade of signals encourages fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin, remodels the skin’s support structure, and improves blood supply to the treated area. Over the following weeks, this process gradually enhances tone, texture, and firmness, leaving the skin looking healthier and more youthful.

What Are the Main Uses of PRP in Aesthetics?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a versatile regenerative treatment with a range of applications in aesthetic medicine:

  • Skin quality: improves texture, radiance, fine lines, and early laxity in areas such as the face, neck, décolletage, and hands.
  • Scarring and stretch marks: helps soften the appearance of atrophic scars and selected stretch marks by stimulating tissue repair.
  • Under-eye skin: refreshes the delicate peri-orbital area, reducing crepiness and dullness (though it is not a substitute for filling deeper hollows).
  • Scalp and hair health: supports reduced hair shedding and encourages stronger, thicker hair growth (see our dedicated page on PRP for Hair Loss in London).

By using your body’s own growth factors, PRP naturally stimulates repair and renewal, making it a safe and effective option for subtle, long-term rejuvenation.

What Results Can I Expect From a PRP Facial, and When?

PRP results develop gradually, as the treatment works by stimulating your skin’s own repair processes:

  • Days 1-2: Mild redness or swelling is common immediately after treatment, but this usually settles quickly.
  • Weeks 2-6: Early improvements in skin radiance and texture become noticeable, with a brighter, smoother surface.
  • Weeks 6-12: Collagen remodelling becomes more established, leading to firmer, stronger skin with better elasticity.
  • Maintenance: Many patients choose repeat sessions every 6-12 months, depending on skin concerns and lifestyle factors.

It’s important to note that PRP is a skin-quality treatment. It will not replace lost volume or alter facial contours. For patients seeking structural reshaping, PRP can be combined with dermal fillers or other complementary treatments as part of a tailored plan.

What Areas Can be Treated With PRP?

PRP can be used in multiple areas because it works with your body’s own natural healing mechanisms. By reintroducing concentrated platelets and growth factors into targeted tissues, it stimulates repair, regeneration, and improved function.

  • Face: PRP helps refresh the skin, improving fine lines, texture, and tone. It’s often used around the eyes (crow’s feet, under-eye crepiness) and can also soften early wrinkles or surface irregularities.
  • Body: PRP can support the treatment of stretch marks, acne scars, and scars from injury or surgery, enhancing skin quality and texture.
  • Scalp: In hair restoration, PRP promotes healthier hair growth, reduces shedding, and can increase thickness and density.

This versatility makes PRP a valuable option for patients seeking natural regeneration in both skin and hair.

What Are the Benefits of PRP Treatment?

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is valued for its ability to rejuvenate the skin and support natural repair using your body’s own healing factors. Because it works at a cellular level, it’s both safe and versatile — suitable even for delicate or hard-to-treat areas.

PRP can help with:

  • Lines and wrinkles: stimulates collagen and elastin for smoother skin.
  • Hair loss or thinning: improves hair density and reduces shedding.
  • Dull or tired complexion: restores radiance and luminosity.
  • Skin laxity: firms and tightens for a more youthful look.
  • Uneven tone or pigmentation: promotes a clearer, more even complexion.
  • Scarring and stretch marks: softens surface irregularities.
  • Musculoskeletal concerns: in some cases, PRP is also used medically to support joint and tendon healing.

The result is gradual, natural-looking improvement in both skin quality and overall appearance, without adding artificial volume or altering facial structure.

PRP for Hair Loss in London

Scalp PRP places platelet-derived growth factors around follicles to promote a pro-growth environment by improving microcirculation and signalling to perifollicular cells. It can support reduced shedding and improved hair calibre/density in appropriately selected patients (e.g., early androgenetic hair loss; post-partum shedding when clinically appropriate).

Plan: 3-4 sessions at 4-6-week intervals, followed by maintenance every 6-12 months. Best outcomes are seen when combined with evidence-based haircare or medical therapy.

PRP Under-Eye Treatment London

In selected candidates, peri-orbital PRP can improve dermal thickness, crepiness, and overall skin quality. Where true hollowing, fat herniation, or fluid-dominant eye bags exist, we may advise alternative or staged modalities (e.g., polynucleotides, energy-based devices, or tear-trough filler where appropriate).

Combining PRP With Other Treatments

  • PRP + Microneedling (same day): amplifies collagen signalling and distribution for texture.
  • PRP + Polynucleotides (staged): autologous growth factors plus additional regenerative support and anti-inflammatory benefits.
  • PRP with Botulinum Toxin/Fillers (planned): quality (PRP) alongside movement/shape management in a coordinated sequence.

Your clinician will map sequencing and intervals to minimise downtime and maximise synergy.

Is PRP Safe, and What Should I Expect After Treatment?

PRP is considered a safe treatment because it uses your own blood plasma, making allergic or hypersensitivity reactions extremely rare. All procedures are performed under strict aseptic conditions to minimise risks.

Possible side effects

  • Common and short-lived: mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or small bumps/bruises at the injection sites, usually resolving within 24-48 hours.
  • Less common: temporary dryness or light flaking as the skin renews.
  • Rare: infection or prolonged bruising. Your medical history and any medications (e.g. anticoagulants) are carefully reviewed beforehand to ensure safety.

Recovery and aftercare

  • Keep the area clean and dry for the first day, and avoid applying make-up directly over injection sites until the next day.
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, vigorous exercise, and alcohol for 24-48 hours.
  • Pause active skincare products such as retinoids and exfoliating acids for 3-5 days.
  • Apply daily broad-spectrum SPF 30+ and minimise sun exposure throughout your treatment course.
  • Unless specifically prescribed, avoid anti-inflammatory medications for 24-48 hours, as they may interfere with the regenerative process.

Your practitioner will provide tailored aftercare advice depending on the area treated, but more information on PRP pre and post care can be found here.

PRP Treatment FAQs

What is the treatment like?

PRP is a by-product of blood (plasma), and is rich in platelets.

Your clinician will draw a small amount of your blood, separate the red blood cells from the platelet rich plasma containing growth factors, using a centrifuge. The plasma is then re-injected into treatment area, either like mesotherapy with multiple micro injections, or directly into areas, like a filler to combat lines and wrinkles.

It should be no more painful than other injectable treatments – but to help your comfort, a local (topical) anaesthetic can be applied to numb the area beforehand.

We can also combine the PRP treatment with medical microneedling, to enhance the results.

What can PRP do for me?

We have found platelet rich plasma to be an effective treatment for the skin – improving texture and helping to repair sun damage. Following your treatment, we expect your skin to be be more hydrated, nourished, firmer with improved texture.

Does PRP hurt?

No, it ought not to hurt, but it may tingle. We can apply topical anaesthetic cream if needed, which will numb the area.

How many treatments and how often is it needed?

Responses to PRP vary, but most people will require 2-4 sessions, spaced approximately 4-6 weeks apart. There is no limit to the number of treatments you can have. You practitioner will advise the number of treatments for your area and concern.

What can I expect from PRP treatments?

Improvement of skin texture and tone is noticeable within 3 weeks.
Full collagen regeneration takes up to 3 months.
Reduction in hair loss is noticeable within 8 weeks.
Complete hair re-growth is seen 3-6 months after the last treatment.

Are there possible side effects of PRP?

You may experience minimal swelling or redness for up to 24 hours.

How long do results last for PRP?

Treatment results vary, however, in most patients the results last up to 24 months. Touch-up treatments (every 3-6 months) will maintain the results.

Who will perform my PRP treatment?

One of our qualified and experienced doctors or nurses perform PRP in our London Clinic.

Can PRP be used to treat sports related concerns?

Absolutely, if there has been an injury due to a sport you will find that together with home care PRP can help reduce and improve the long term appearance if any scarring or pigmentation.

Who is suitable for the treatment?

You will be invited for an in-depth consultation to assess your skin, concerns and goals from the treatment. We only want you to have a treatment if you will benefit from the results, and so the initial consultation is imperative to ensure your satisfaction and suitability.

Do you offer other treatments aside from PRP in London?

Yes, absolutely, we offer other treatments, including PRP in our London Clinic. Omniya was created with the core focus on improving your internal and external health and wellbeing, and for this reason, we offer a range of treatments from hormonal therapies, to medical cosmetic and restoration treatments and procedures. Does PRP work for under eyes?

PRP is a very effective treatment for the area under your eyes and addresses concerns like deep circles, puffiness and undereye bags.

Why is PRP considered a natural treatment option?

PRP is considered a natural treatment option because it uses the patient’s own biological material (blood) to stimulate healing and rejuvenation, without the addition of foreign substances.

What makes PRP therapy different at your clinic in London?

At Omniya, we utilise advanced PRP processing techniques and customised treatment plans, ensuring the highest concentration of growth factors and a tailored approach to meet each patient’s specific needs and goals.
