Dermapen Microneedling with ÜBER Pro Peel

at Omniya Clinic in London

Dermapen Microneedling with ÜBER Pro Peel is a treatment that uses surgical grade stainless steel microneedles and a chemical peel to enhance your skin’s appearance. Microneedling creates tiny punctures in the skin to stimulate collagen production and improve texture. A chemical peel helps to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin by removing dead cells and promoting new cell growth. Together, these treatments can help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and improve overall skin tone and texture.

At Omniya, we actively strive to bring our patients leading innovations. Our skin specialists are trained and authorised by DermapenWorld to do the treatment, making sure it’s safe and effective.

How Does Microneedling Work In Combination With A Chemical Peel?

Dermapen Microneedling is a popular device that uses fine needles to create small injuries on the skin. This stimulates the skin’s healing process to produce more collagen and elastin.

This device can make 1,920 tiny holes every second, 104% faster than other devices. This helps the skin absorb products up to 1,000 times better. We then apply a bespoke serum while microneedling to maximise effectiveness and achieve optimal results.

Microneedling triggers skin healing and collagen production. Afterward, we apply the ÜBER Pro Peel for further benefits. This peel works from the outside superficial layer of the skin, resurfacing the skin by removing the top layer.

ÜBER Pro Peel is a professional peel exclusively designed to enhance Dermapen microneedling procedures. It contains a specific blend of treatment actives that increase cellular turnover while addressing signs of aging, acne, and hyperpigmentation. This combination offers the safest way to merge microneedling with chemical peels, providing comprehensive skin rejuvenation and repair for a glowing complexion.

What Are The Benefits Of Combining Microneedling And Chemical Peel

Enhanced Absorption and Improved Product Penetration

The microchannels created by the Dermapen allow the ÜBER Pro Peel’s active ingredients to penetrate deeper, maximizing their effectiveness.

Stimulated Collagen Production and Boosted Collagen and Elastin

Microneedling promotes the skin’s natural healing process, enhancing collagen and elastin production. The peel’s ingredients, such as retinaldehyde and peptides, further support this effect.

Comprehensive Skin Rejuvenation for Multiple Skin Concerns

This combination addresses fine lines, wrinkles, scars, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone. The acids in the peel exfoliate and brighten the skin, while microneedling improves texture and firmness.

Smoother and More Radiant Skin

Microneedling and chemical peels can improve skin texture and tone by resurfacing the top layer of the stratum corneum, removing dead skin cells, and promoting a smoother, softer appearance.

Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles

The treatment helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, providing a more youthful appearance.

Evens Skin Tone and Lightens Pigmentation

It evens skin coloring and lightens pigmentation, addressing hyperpigmented conditions effectively.

Reduced Downtime with Faster Recovery

Both treatments are minimally invasive, leading to quicker recovery times compared to more aggressive procedures.

What Ingredients Does Über Pro Peel Contain?

The ÜBER Pro is an anabolic chemical peel, with each ingredient providing a specific purpose to contribute to the desired outcome.

  • Lactic Acid: A type of AHA that moisturises and exfoliates, improving skin moisture, texture, brightness, and reducing fine lines and pigmentation.
  • Pyruvic Acid: A type of BHA that helps exfoliate the skin, improve texture and clarity. It also has antimicrobial properties that benefit acne treatment and reduce oiliness.
  • Ferulic Acid: An antioxidant that protects skin from damage caused by free radicals. It enhances the effectiveness of other antioxidants like vitamins C and E, reducing signs of ageing.
  • Kojic Acid: Inhibits melanin production, reducing hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and uneven skin tone, while also offering antifungal and antibacterial properties.
  • Retinaldehyde: A powerful form of vitamin A that aids in skin cell renewal and reduces wrinkles and lines. It improves skin texture and treats acne with less irritation compared to other retinoids.
  • Copper Peptides: Promote wound healing, stimulate collagen production, reduce inflammation, and enhance skin elasticity, improving firmness and smoothness.
  • Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): Helps the skin look better by making it firmer, smoother, and more even. It also reduces signs of ageing and inflammation from acne.
  • Hyaluronic Acid: Hydrates the skin by attracting moisture, plumping the skin, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles for a smoother complexion.
  • Mandelic Acid: Possesses antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and acts as a tyrosinase inhibitor, reducing pigmentation.
  • Arbutin: Also a tyrosinase inhibitor, it suppresses pigmentation, helping to lighten dark spots and even out skin tone.

What Are The Treatment Procedures?

Consultation:

The treatment begins with a thorough consultation to assess your skin type and address your concerns. We recommend arriving a little early (approximately 10 minutes for new patients) to complete a medical history questionnaire. This allows us to determine if this combination treatment is suitable for you.

Preparation:

Preparation involves cleansing your face, assessing it, and discussing your treatment goals. Your skin specialist will determine the depth of the needle punctures needed to achieve the desired results.

Microneedling:

During microneedling, the device is moved over the skin. This creates small controlled injuries. The injuries are made at a rate of over 1,920 channels per second. This part of the procedure may feel uncomfortable, but most patients do not find it painful. Depending on each patient’s pain threshold, we may apply a numbing cream; however, it is preferred to perform the treatment without topical anesthetic for optimal results.

Chemical Peel Application:

After microneedling, the peel penetrates deeper through the open channels created by the microneedling. This combination enhances the effectiveness of the treatment. Following the chemical peel, we apply a mask to further nourish the skin. The treatment is then completed with a vitamin-rich repair moisturiser and an SPF to help the skin recover faster.

Post-Treatment Care:

After your treatment, it is normal to expect mild to moderate sunburn-like symptoms for 36-48 hours. Be sure to:

  • Apply SPF to your skin.
  • Stay hydrated and shield your skin from the sun.
  • Use gentle skincare products.
  • Avoid active resurfacing ingredients like AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, and retinoids for up to 5 days.
  • Refrain from intense exercise and swimming.

Your skin specialist will provide full care instructions tailored to your specific needs post-treatment.

Dermapen Microneedling with ÜBER Pro Peel
FAQs

Can microneedling and chemical peels be done together?

Yes, microneedling and chemical peels can be combined, but it’s crucial to approach this carefully, as performing both treatments simultaneously can be too harsh for the skin. Our Dermapen Microneedling combined with the ÜBER Pro Peel is specifically designed to be done together. This combination allows the benefits of both treatments to enhance each other, leading to more effective skin rejuvenation and healing. It’s important to consult with a skincare professional to ensure it’s suitable for your skin type and to address any specific concerns you might have. The professional can also guide you on the best practices for aftercare to maximize results and minimize any potential side effects.

Microneedling vs. chemical Peel: which is better?

While the application of these treatments differs, both aim to improve the appearance of the skin. Their suitability depends on the patient’s skin type, medical history, and desired outcome.

Microneedling works for all skin tones and can reduce deep wrinkles by boosting collagen and promoting skin healing. Optimal results typically require three to six sessions every two to six weeks.

Chemical peels are great for removing dark spots, freckles, or surface-level acne. Chemical solutions are used to resurface the skin. Light peels have minimal downtime, while medium to deep peels require two to three weeks of recovery. Patients typically require four to six light peels spaced  3-4 weeks apart to achieve the desired results.

What pre-treatment care is required?

  • Consider stopping self-medicated anticoagulants (e.g., aspirin) and supplements (e.g., garlic tablets, omega 3) 7-10 days before treatment to reduce bleeding risk. Continue with aspirin only if the patient accepts increased bleeding risk.
  • Avoid using exfoliating products for 3-5 days before treatment.
  • Ensure at least 2 weeks have passed since any injectable treatments (Dermal fillers, Botox), laser treatments, and 6 weeks since Radiesse.
  • Allow 8 weeks since Dermabrasion or resurfacing/ablative radiofrequency treatments.
  • Microdermabrasion, superficial peels (AHA, BHA), and electrolysis can be done 1-2 weeks before microneedling.
  • Hair removal should be done 2-3 days before microneedling.
  • Wait at least 1 week after the last application of spray or self-tan before microneedling.
  • For Vitamin A (tretinoin) and retinoids, wait until the skin is acclimatized with no or minimal erythema (8 weeks) and stop use a week before treatment.

Can microneedling and chemical peels help with acne?

Yes, both microneedling and chemical peels can help with acne. Microneedling promotes skin healing and reduces scarring by creating tiny punctures that boost collagen production. This process can clear pores and improve skin texture, reducing breakouts.

Chemical peels work by removing the top layer of skin, unclogging pores, and reducing inflammation, which can diminish acne and its scarring. When used together, these treatments enhance each other’s effects, offering a more comprehensive approach to managing acne and improving overall skin health.

How long will the results last?

The results should last approximately 3 months + or longer with maintenance after you complete the course of treatments.

Does microneedling hurt?

Microneedling can be a bit uncomfortable, depending on factors like needle depth, pain tolerance, use of numbing cream, and treatment area. During the procedure (approximately 15-30 minutes), you may feel light pinpricks. After the procedure, the skin will likely feel tender, similar to a mild sunburn, for up to a couple of days.

Does ÜBER Pro Peel hurt?

The ÜBER Pro Peel is a superficial peel, which is the entry-level medical peel. These are typically very well tolerated. Sensations may include mild tingling or stinging, with minimal discomfort, often described as a warm feeling or slight burning.

What does the ÜBER Pro Peel address?

ÜBER Pro Peel has special ingredients that help renew cells and treat signs of ageing, discoloration, pigmentation issues, melasma, milia, and acne. This product is great for treating pigmentation, sun damage, signs of ageing, and problem skin. It is safe for all skin tones.
