The Nefertiti Lift – Your Questions Answered
3 March 2022 by Omniya ClinicWhat Is A Nefertiti Lift?
A Nefertiti Lift is a non-surgical neck lift that uses Botox to reduce loose sagging skin around the neck and jawline. It’s named after the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, who was renowned for her great beauty and her well defined profile.
As well as minimising jowls and sagging, this procedure can be used to remove wrinkles and lines on the neck, as well as on the lower half of the face. It’s a great way to create a more rounded, pleasing symmetry to your facial profile.
How Does A Nefertiti Lift Work?
Botox works by injecting muscles with a relaxant, and prohibiting the unnecessary tightening of those muscles. It’s often used in the forehead to prevent the subconscious frowning that leads to wrinkles over time.
For a Nefertiti Lift, we make a series of small Botox injections into the muscles of the neck, to prevent any tension stored there from pulling down the skin around the jawline. These are the muscles that are used when clenching the jaw, biting, or grinding your teeth.
Nefertiti Lift – How Long Does It Last?
The results of your Nefertiti Lift should be visible after one to three days, and you should be seeing the full effect after two weeks. The full effect will last for anywhere between three to six months.
Is It Painful?
You shouldn’t feel more than a momentary pinprick during the procedure. We can also use numbing creams if your skin is particularly sensitive. Our expertly skilled clinicians will ensure that any discomfort you feel during your non-surgical neck lift is kept to an absolute minimum.
Nefertiti Lift Side Effects
There are very occasionally additional side effects with any Botox treatment, which can include temporary bruising, flu-like symptoms, headaches, nausea, or temporary loss of facial control or drooping. However, these are very rare, and don’t tend to last very long.
We recommend that patients avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area immediately afterwards, to avoid spreading the treatment to areas not intended for targeting. We also recommend that you avoid rigorous exercise for about 24 hours afterwards, although you should be fine to continue with the rest of your day-to-day activities.
How Much Does A Non-Surgical Neck Lift Cost?
The cost can vary, depending on your skin type and the quantity of sagging skin involved. We’ll be able to give you an exact cost at your Omniya consultation, where we’ll examine you and recommend an exact treatment based on your skin type and facial structure. Treatment prices start at £300.
