Welcome to Omniya Clinic’s guide to your Hydrafacial Keravive treatment. Below, you will find comprehensive contraindications, pre-care and post-care information for your treatment. If you have any questions, please contact our reception team who will be happy to assist you.
Medical History
You will receive a medical history form by email ahead of your appointment. If you’re not able to complete it beforehand, we kindly ask that you arrive about 10 minutes early to fill it in at the clinic.
If there have been any changes to your health, or you’ve started any new medication since your last visit, please let us know before your appointment so we can make sure your treatment is still right for you.
Contraindications
This treatment is contraindicated if you are or have:
- An autoimmune disease such as HIV, lupus, hepatitis, scleroderma
- Scalp conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, or rashes
- An active infection in the treatment area
- Melanoma or lesions suspected of malignancy
- Active sunburn
- Pregnancy or lactation
- Anticoagulants Therapy
- Neurological disorders such as epilepsy
- Photosensitising medication (contraindicates you for the LED)
- Infection in the urinary system including kidneys, bladder and urethra
- Crohn’s Disease
- Hyperthyroidism
- Deep Venous Thrombosis
- Lymphedema
- Open lesion
- Active Acne/Inflammatory Acne
Please let us know if you have recently:
- Used Minoxidil (Regaine) or similar topical medications or non-medical treatments
- Colour-treated your hair or added extensions
- Used Propecia or any other medications or supplements
- Received a PRP or hair transplant
Pre Treatment Advice
- Do not use aggressive exfoliation, scrubs etc one week prior to treatment.
Post Treatment Instructions & Expectations
- Your scalp may experience temporary irritation, tightness, or redness. These are all normal reactions that typically resolve within 72 hours depending on scalp sensitivity. In the event that these reactions occur, discontinue use of the home spray until they are resolved.
- You may experience slight tingling and/or stinging in the treatment area. These sensations generally subside within a few hours.
- Do not use aggressive exfoliation, scrubs etc one week post treatment.
- Client experiences may vary. Some clients may experience a delayed onset of symptoms.
- The scalp can be susceptible to sunburn/sun damage. Always avoid excessive sun exposure. We recommend using a minimum of SPF 30 sunscreen, protective clothing and accessories when exposed to the sun.
Cancellations
If you need to rearrange or cancel your appointment for any reason, we operate with a 48 hour cancellation policy, therefore we kindly ask you to inform us within 2 working days if you are unable to attend your appointment.
