  • Prior Reactions: History of severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis following previous dermal filler treatments.
  • Coagulation Issues: Coagulopathies or concurrent use of blood-thinning medications that may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding.
  • Autoimmune/Inflammatory Conditions: Active autoimmune diseases or inflammatory skin conditions (e.g. active acne, eczema, or rosacea) in the treatment area.
  • Pregnant/Breastfeeding: Typically contraindicated or used with caution during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Pre Treatment Advice

Please:

  • Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before treatment
  • Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face
  • Inform your practitioner of any medications or supplements you are taking that might increase bruising or affect healing

Post Treatment Instructions & Expectations

  • Redness and swelling are normal. Bruising may also be visible.
  • You may experience some tenderness at the treatment site, that can last for a few hours or up to a week, any pain or redness getting worse please call the clinic.
  • Do not apply an ice pack or cold gel pack to the area.
  • You may begin wearing makeup after 24 to 48 hours.
  • No alcohol for 24 hours
  • Avoid placing excessive pressure on the treated area for the first few hours and up to 10 to 14 days; when cleansing your face or applying makeup, be very gentle.
  • Avoid exercise or strenuous activities for one week this is to reduce the risk of swelling, you may resume other normal activities/routines after 48 hours.
  • You may take paracetamol if you experience any mild tenderness or discomfort.
  • Avoid extended UV exposure until any redness/swelling has subsided. Be sure to apply an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen.
  • Wait a minimum of four weeks before receiving any facial skin care, saunas or laser treatments.

It is expected that you will see an improvement immediately following treatment, though the overall result is expected 4-6 weeks later as the product fully integrates with the tissue and the swelling settles. It is normal in this period to ‘feel’ or see the filler as prominent or hard- this tends to settle down on its own within weeks as it becomes at one with the tissues.

It is also normal that the filler can be mobile in the first few hours after treatment- as such we ask you not to touch it or massage it unless otherwise instructed.
