Introduction
Welcome to Omniya Clinic’s guide to your CELLSTORY treatment. Below, you will find comprehensive contraindications, pre-care and post-care information for your treatment. If you have any questions, please contact our reception team who will be happy to assist you.
Medical History
You will receive a medical history form by email ahead of your appointment. If you’re not able to complete it beforehand, we kindly ask that you arrive about 10 minutes early to fill it in at the clinic.
If there have been any changes to your health, or you’ve started any new medication since your last visit, please let us know before your appointment so we can make sure your treatment is still right for you.
Contraindications
CELLSTORY is not suitable if any of the following apply:
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Active skin infections in the treatment area, including bacterial, viral (such as herpes) or fungal infections
- Open wounds
- Active cold sores
- Sunburn
- Autoimmune skin disorders such as lupus, psoriasis or eczema, or a compromised immune system due to stress, illness or other causes
- Chronic inflammatory skin conditions
- Scleroderma
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- A propensity for keloid scarring
- Current cancer
- Recent cosmetic procedures in the treatment area, such as chemical peels, laser treatments or microdermabrasion, until the skin has fully healed
- Surgery in the treatment area within the last 6 months
- Roaccutane within the last 12 months
- Oral Retin A within 3 months of completing your course
Cautionary Criteria
The following do not automatically prevent treatment, but require caution and will be assessed by your practitioner before you are treated:
- A history of cancer: you may be asked to confirm with your doctor before we proceed
- Blood thinning medication: treatment may be possible following a patch test
- Allergies, hay fever or a heightened histamine response: you may experience an exaggerated response to treatment. You may take antihistamines 1–2 days before and for 3–5 days after treatment
- Nut allergy: Cellstory Plus Recovery Cream contains macadamia seed oil, which is derived from macadamia nuts. Please tell us in advance so we can adapt your aftercare
Pre Treatment Instructions
To prepare for your CELLSTORY treatment, please:
- Stop tretinoin 5 days before treatment
- Stop retinol 3 days before treatment
- Avoid chemical peels for 2 weeks before treatment
- Avoid botulinum toxin (Botox) injections for 2 weeks before treatment
- Avoid dermal fillers for 4 weeks before treatment
- Avoid waxing in the treatment area for 1 week before treatment
- Avoid sunburn in the days before your appointment, as we are unable to treat sunburnt skin
- If you are prone to allergies, hay fever or a heightened histamine response, you may take antihistamines for 1–2 days before treatment
Post Treatment Instructions, Expectations and Care
After treatment, you must minimise potential side effects by taking appropriate care of the treated area. Please strictly follow all post-treatment instructions.
On the day of treatment
- Use only the sheet mask from your opened aftercare bag. Do not cleanse, apply SPF or wear makeup on the day of your treatment.
For the first 3 days after treatment
- Morning: gentle cleanser with no actives, the serum from your sheet mask bag, Angelto Moisturiser if available, SPF, and makeup if required.
- Evening: gentle cleanser, the serum from your sheet mask bag, and Angelto Moisturiser if available.
- Use the additional mask as and when it suits you.
- Avoid retinol, acids, toners, exfoliators and any oil-based products.
- Keep the skin cool. Avoid saunas, jacuzzis, steam rooms, vigorous exercise and alcohol, as these raise skin temperature.
- You may return to your usual routine on day 4 after treatment.
What to expect
- You may feel a prickly sensation when you touch the skin for up to 3 days after treatment. This is normal. The skin will naturally work the Microspears up and out through its own desquamation process.
- Your skin may become dry or flaky 3–5 days after treatment. Continue to increase hydration levels in the skin during this time. Please do not pick or exfoliate your skin.
- You may experience temporary symptoms such as irritation, redness, itchiness and swelling. Sufficient soothing and moisturising is necessary, using the aftercare provided.
Ongoing care
- Retinol and tretinoin may be reintroduced 3 days after treatment.
- Avoid waxing in the treatment area for 1 week after treatment.
- Avoid chemical peels for 2 weeks after treatment.
- Avoid botulinum toxin (Botox) injections for 2 weeks after treatment.
- Avoid dermal fillers for 4 weeks after treatment.
- If you are prone to allergies, hay fever or a heightened histamine response, you may continue antihistamines for 3–5 days after treatment.
- A course of 4 treatments, spaced between one week and one month apart, is recommended for optimum results, although results can be seen from the first treatment.
- Results will vary from patient to patient.

Possible Complications and Side Effects
Complications, though rare, occasionally occur and should be discussed and understood. It is important to follow the post-care instructions above, as failure to do so may increase the likelihood of complications.
- Skin irritation
- Redness
- Itchiness
- Mild swelling
- Warmth or sensitivity
- A prickly sensation on touch for up to 3 days after treatment
- Dry or flaky skin 3–5 days after treatment
