Welcome to Omniya Clinic’s guide to your LED Light Therapy. Below, you will find comprehensive contraindications, pre-care and post-care information for your treatment. If you have any questions, please contact our reception team who will be happy to assist you.
Medical History
If it is your first time seeing an aesthetician at Omniya Clinic please click here to fill out your Medical History Form in advance of your appointment.
Instructions:
Upon making an appointment, an account will be created for you. Please select 'Yes, I've already got a profile!' and then 'recover password' and you will receive an email to set a new password - please check your Spam/Junk folder.
Please note: If there are any medical changes or if you have been taking any new medication since the last time you visited us, please inform us before you attend the clinic to ensure you are still suitable to have the treatment.
Contraindications
This treatment may not be suitable if you have or are:
- Epilepsy or seizures triggered by light (unless seizure-free for at least 5 years with medical consent)
- Porphyria
- Lupus Erythematosus
- Polymorphic Light Eruption
- Photosensitive eczema
- Albinism (hypomelanism)
- Active cancer
- Currently pregnant
- Undergoing treatment or recently treated for eye conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, or recent laser eye surgery (requires medical clearance)
- Taking St John’s Wort (especially in high doses)
Pre Treatment Advice
Please:
- Do not use topical retinoids (retinol/tretinoin), benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid for at least 5 days prior to treatment.
- Discontinue use of photosensitising medications such as tetracycline, doxycycline, Roaccutane (Isotretinoin), methotrexate, amiodarone, and certain anti-psychotics at least 5 days before treatment. If unsure, please check with your doctor.
- Inform us of any new skincare introduced within the past week, especially vitamin A-based products, as these may increase sensitivity.
Note: please consult with your prescribing doctor prior to discontinuing any medication.
Post Treatment Instructions
Please note:
- Skin may appear slightly flushed immediately after treatment. This is normal and should subside shortly.
- You may apply moisturiser and makeup immediately after the treatment.
- Use SPF daily following treatment to protect skin and support results.
- Keep yourself well hydrated to assist the lymphatic system post-treatment.
Cancellations
If you need to rearrange or cancel your appointment for any reason, we operate with a 48 hour cancellation policy, therefore we kindly ask you to inform us within 2 working days if you are unable to attend your appointment.
