Welcome to Omniya Clinic’s guide to your Chemical Peel treatment. Below, you will find comprehensive contraindications, pre-care and post-care information for your treatment. If you have any questions, please contact our reception team who will be happy to assist you.
Medical History

Instructions:
Upon making an appointment, an account will be created for you. Please select 'Yes, I've already got a profile!' and then 'recover password' and you will receive an email to set a new password - please check your Spam/Junk folder.
Please note: If there are any medical changes or if you have been taking any new medication since the last time you visited us, please inform us before you attend the clinic to ensure you are still suitable to have the treatment.
Contraindications
This treatment may not be suitable if you are or have:
- Pregnant and breastfeeding
- Use of Roaccutane/ Accutane in the past 6 months
- Active herpes simplex (cold sores)
- Botox/ fillers less than 2 weeks prior to treatment
- Real/ fake tan in the last 2 weeks
- Allergies or sensitivities to nuts, aspirin, Vitamin A, milk, apples, citrus, grapes, latex, aloe vera – please inform your aesthetician prior to the treatment as an alternative peel can be provided
Pre Treatment Instructions
Please:
- Do not expose your skin to the sun at least 2 weeks before treatment
- Do not use tanning beds for at least 2 weeks before treatment
- Do not undergo any other facial treatments for 2 weeks prior to a chemical peel treatment. This includes but is not limited to dermaplaning, microneedling, laser, facial fillers, facial waxing/ threading
- If you shave the hair on the treated area, ensure shaving is done at least one day before the treatment
- It is recommended that you temporarily discontinue the use of Retin-A, Renova, Differing, Epiduo for a week before treatment. Products that contain high percentages of AHA and BHA (Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid) and all retinols should be avoided for approximately 5 days before treatment. Please consult with your clinician before discontinuing prescription medications
Post Treatment Instructions & Expectations
For up to 14 days following your treatment your skin may feel tight, sensitive, dry and you may experience flaking skin. This is normal. To avoid the risk of complications, please follow the below advice:
- Do not wash your face for at least 10 hours post treatment
- Avoid direct sunlight and do not use a tanning bed for at least 2 weeks post treatment
- Fake tan applied within the last week
- Keep the skin cool – avoid heat, excessive exercise and swimming/ steam room/ sauna for up to 14 days post treatment
- Use the products instructed by your aesthetician. Do not use facial oils, aqueuous/ emollient creams and avoid high percentage AHA and BHA products for up to 14 days post treatment
- Do not undergo any facial treatments for at least 2 weeks post treatment; this includes, but not limited to dermaplaning, microneedling, laser, facial fillers/ Botox,, facial waxing/ threading
- Do not pick or pull peeling skin
- Protect your skin with a broad spectrum SPF
- When cleansing your skin, pat your skin dry, rather than rub
- Best to avoid wearing makeup after the peel as it will have to be left on the face for a minimum of 10 hours; if you still wish to apply make-up, must wait a minimum of one hour post peel; best to use mineral makeup to prevent rubbing of the skin
Cancellations
If you need to rearrange or cancel your appointment for any reason, we operate with a 48 hour cancellation policy, therefore we kindly ask you to inform us within 2 working days if you are unable to attend your appointment.
